Christmas Fayre

On Wednesday 20th December 2017 the Friends of Green Fold held it’s first fundraising event. We held a Christmas Fayre and we used an unprecedented format of sending out a brochure prior to the event, offering our families who cannot make it on the day the chance to take part. The fayre was organised as a collaborative project between F.O.G and the school staff, many of whom went above and beyond, making items to sell in the brochure as well as treading the streets of Bolton requesting raffle prizes.

On the morning of the Fayre which took place on the upper site, there were 12 stalls offering home-made bath bombs, chocolate bouquets, personalised photo baubles, raffles, guess the name of the dog, cakes and drinks and more. The children who had pre-ordered from the brochure were given paper bags and a list of what to collect from the stalls. Friends and family came and spent time enjoying the cakes and stalls together, everyone had a wonderful time.

Because our school is across two sites on Highfield road, our dedicated team of staff and volunteers packed up the stalls at dinner time and laid them out on the lower site ready for a second Fayre in the afternoon!

It was a lot of hard work but we are over the moon at having made £2260.20 in profit. The money will be used to buy item for Green Fold pupils to use and enjoy such as scooters and all weather clothing. We would like to thank everyone for all of their hard work and all the local businesses who helped and supported us.
